Most people approach Pembrokeshire heading west from Carmarthen
From the end of the M4 follow the A48 to Carmarthen
When you reach Carmarthen follow the A40 for Fishguard (Abergwaun) and Saint Clears (Sanclar).
You will cross over a bridge and at the next roundabout turn left on the A40 for Saint Clears.
At the Saint Clears roundabout take the left hand turn to Pembroke Dock on the A477.
Follow the road to Pembroke Dock, straight on past the Tenby turnoff… not far now.
Have you noticed the traffic slowing down? Less hectic and part of the relaxation of being in Pembrokeshire and West Wales. Your holiday is already starting.
At the second roundabout you will see a sign for Carew and Haverford West on the A4075… now the pace will slow down as you turn onto a single lane road. A few hundred yards along the A4075 you will see the famous Carew Castle on the left. Worth a visit to see how they harnessed the sea to mill wheat and barley.
Take it easy here down a little steep hill as there is a bridge to cross and you have to give way to oncoming traffic. Over the bridge and on up the road to Whitehill.
Take the first turning left to Cresswell Quay.
The road varies as you pass through the strung out village of Whitehill and follow the road on through the lanes. You’re really close!
As you drop down to sea level and come out from the leafy lane and enter Cresswell Quay, watch out for oncoming traffic the lane gets narrow here.
Bear left over the small bridge and pass the Cresselly Arms pub, take care of people enjoying a cold drink in the late afternoon and early evening, it can get busy especially when the tide is in and boats come up the river.
Continue along the bank of the river you come to a few houses on your left, the road now bears left and over the small bridge. On your right behind the stone wall is Bridge Meadow.
You reach a small junction where the road bears left and uphill, on the right, you will see the gate for Bridge Meadow.
Turn right and 50m or so further on you will see the sign for Cresswell Barn Farm, turn right again and you will see the gate entrance to Upper Meadow on your right.
If you have pre-booked then you will find your name on the appropriate gate, proceed to your pitch and begin your holiday!
Welcome to Cresswell Barn Farm.
